Check it out! We has play corner! Our living room is coming together as pretty baby friendly. It still isn't 100% safe, but H is never alone anyways. And we are working on it. We did get a huge rug, (did I mention that?) back when the hardwood floors were inhibiting crawling. Then we rearranged and created this corner. Just a few books on a shelf, a couple of toy baskets. A soft blanket and a cheap ikea mirror. Sure, he could play in his room. And he does. But usually I'd rather be out here. That way I can sneak in a few tasks with the playing. And of course he wants to be where I am. Plus look at the light! In the morning and days it's the lightest and warmest room in the house. Every morning H smiles at the play area when we enter the living room. It's the best.

  1. I love how everything is on his level and encourages him to explore. It is very Montessori!

  4. What a great play area! Looks like a perfect spot by the windows.
Is the mirror shatterproof? I really want to do that in our play area but my husband is paranoid about a toy getting whacked against the mirror and breaking it.
