I think it's safe to say that neither Jamie or I were looking to start a baby blog that threw loads of products at its readers like a couple of saleswomen. However, when Meghan requested a follow-up of the "musts and need nots" of baby stuff on this post, I thought that was a brilliant idea.
So, here's my recommendation for "must" product number one: The Boppy Newborn Lounger. We have a regular Boppy too, but the Newborn Lounger is indispensable. A friend had recommended it to Joe, so we decided to buy it on a whim. We are beyond thrilled that we did. We use it ALL the time and L can't seem to get enough of it. Since we live in a smallish apartment, we felt that a bassinet would be more of a nuisance than helpful. For us, the Lounger has done everything that a bassinet would do without taking up an excessive amount of space. For most of the day, it sits next to me on the sofa and it's great for napping, eating, and of course, lounging. We also use it for co-sleeping.* L is only two weeks old, so we really haven't had a chance to use most of our products just yet, but this one gets an A++ in my book.
*Be forewarned that the label CLEARLY states that this product is NOT intended for use on elevated surfaces or for sleeping. Although we use it under both of these circumstances, we NEVER leave L unattended in her lounger. Be smart with your babies, guys, and only do something if you feel 100% comfortable.
Celia, she is so goregous! Is it hard to stop looking at her all the time?!
ReplyDeletehonestly, yes.
ReplyDeleteand thank you. :)
she is so so stinkin' gorgeous. i don't know when i've seen a more beautiful babe! even though i'm not a mother (and probably won't be becoming one any time soon), thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeletewhat a little badass.
she is stunning. good job, baby making. ;)
ReplyDeletewhat a little cutie!!! that outfit is adorable! my sister just had her daughter (2 weeks ago) and she said the same thing about the lounger. i even took her first "official" pics while she was asleep in it. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for the musts! We have bought exactly zero things so far and I will be keeping tabs on this list. You two seem to share the philosophy that babies don't need mountains of stuff which I appreciate greatly.
ReplyDeleteI'm certain this is the sweetest thing I'll see all day. I love her little sweater. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteShe is the most gorgeous baby I have ever seen! Her little striped legs and purple socks - ADORABLE. She has great style already :)
ReplyDeleteGah, she is soooo pretty... xo.
ReplyDeleteOh she is SO beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty!
ReplyDeletesuch a cute photo! i didn't even know the boppy longer existed! might have to add it to the registry
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Celia, you lucked out. She is crazy gorgeous. Even D (not so big on newborns) agrees.
ReplyDeleteIs she wearing Babylegs? How did you find such a small size?? We have some that are 3x the size of our 3-week-old's legs!
ReplyDeleteTotally adorbs, and thanks for the recommendation!
so freaking cute! does she look like you? it's hard to tell at this point from here :)
ReplyDeletegood to know about the boppy lounger, I am just starting to think I need to start buying stuff - but so don't want mountains of baby swag...
Holy crap, cutest baby on the internet, hands down. I want to SQUISH her.
ReplyDeleteYou guys sure do make beautiful babies. She's a stunner.
ReplyDeleteyou guys are so sweet. thank you!
ReplyDelete@kate eyes, forehead and face shape are mine. nose and mouth are joe's. :)
@nc those are indeed baby legs. they are large and long on her, but the elastic around the thigh keeps them up. i just scrunch them and put socks on her to keep them from dangling over her feet.
ReplyDeletexo
I was wondering if those were baby legs. Totally going to get them for my little girl due in 9 days. She is precious. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way- what about those cute little socks?? They look like they fit well but not too tight.
