Me: I am a house.
Joe: You are not a house.
Me: Ok, then I am a bungalow.

Having to climb 2 flights of stairs to get from your garage to your apartment is really not that bad. Having to climb 2 flights of stairs from your garage to your apartment when you're 7 1/2 months pregnant feels a lot like going for a 3-mile run. I'm not going to lie... I'm tired and uncomfortable and very ready to not feel so tired and uncomfortable anymore. I've learned the hard way that I really need to take it easy. I was getting painful contractions last week, and when they started coming frequently, I freaked out a little. Every time I send an email to my doctor or pick up the phone to call her, I picture her quietly laughing at my inexperience. Joe says he's sure I'm not the only one who needs constant reassurance. That's probably him just being nice. She told me I need to rest more and drink more water. So far, that's helped a lot. It can be hard to rest so much when you're so close to expecting a new person in your life, but as soon as those contractions start to kick in again, I picture the baby saying, "Hey Mom! You think you can be a little more careful while I'm in here?". And so I slow down. Just 10 more weeks, little one... we can make it.

  2. I don't think I'd ever leave the house if I had to climb 2 flights of stairs to get back...if I was pregnant that is. I hope you have a good weekend, lady! xoxo

  3. Funny (well, not funny ah ah) because I wrote pretty much the same thing on my blog.

I had fake contractions twice, a few weeks ago, it was pretty scary. I can't wait to start my maternity leave in 3 weeks. I don't sleep very well so I'm pretty tired during the afternoon. Oh well, less than 10 weeks to go!!!

Also you look gorgeous to me.

  5. hang in there, mama. it's hard work to make a child as attractive as the one you and joe are going to have, but it will be worth it.

  7. Oh Celia, you really reminded me how uncomfortable it is from about now. Pregnancy should be a full-time job with its own salary. You do look amazing, though. Keep drinking that water. (Isn't it amazing how thirsty you get while pregnant? Non-stop drinking and weeing.)

  8. Oh Celia, you make my heart aflutter.

There are 64 steps up to our house. Every day from 6 months pregnant I could manage one step less before I had to stop to hyperventilate.

  9. :( Aww, that sounds rough. (Also, I did a wee "Hey, there's the same bunnies-wave print that I've got in my living room too! at your photo of you-not-being-a-house-or-bungalow)

  10. One of my close friends is due next week! I've spent a lot of time with her recently and so I totally understand what you're going through (although not really because I'm not actually pregnant or anything). Hang in there!

yes, thats not making a comment on your current feeling - however, one day, you'll forget all about this. sort of. kind of. wow, I'm no help.

you hair, however, does look AWESOME. like a 'oh I didn't even try and it just looks this fabulous' kind of way. 'twould never happen over here.

(and you're just adorable as a little bungalow.)
