When I was still pregnant some friends gave us their old baby monitor. I didn't think much of it, and stored it away. I mean, we live in a tiny house. We never used one with the littles I used to nanny for, and I just hate having too much stuff. But Henry is kind of a quiet guy. He will wake up, and we won't know it until he gets to a loud cry. So we found ourselves using a huge loud floor fan for white noise and keeping the bedroom door open so we could peer in at him every couple of minutes.

Then I finally pulled out the monitor. And it is awesome. I love being able to see him in his sleep! His little chest rise up and down. It has changed everything. Do you guys use a monitor?

  1. we live in a tiny one bedroom (you've seen it), and i want one of those so bad. cheech is such a light sleeper, that going in to check on her is always such a gamble. a screen monitor might just have to be our next purchase.

  2. never used a monitor but I see the appeal. Nothing sweeter than watching a baby sleep. Just can't get enough of those sleepyheaded angels.

  3. I was just thinking of ordering a monitor. I would like to be able to hear W rousing before he gets to full blown cry mode. But was thinking I didn't need the camera kind (they are a bit pricey). Think you could get away with a sound monitor only?

  4. We have the same one, given to us by friends, too! I never would have bought a video monitor, but now I don't know how we could live without it. I'd be going in there to check on my daughter constantly if not for it...And the weird security camera-type footage amuses our friends. :)

  5. I always thought they were pointless...then I got the same.exact.one. and became obsessed with it. No more phantom baby (was that her crying?). Awesome. Next baby, I'm upgrading to color!
