Last week, we put L on our bed and after a short struggle, she successfully rolled onto her belly. We were beyond excited, especially since we were both there to witness it. But here's the problem... she has refused to do it again. Sometimes, she won't even bother rolling onto her side, which I KNOW she can do because that's how she sleeps. So, I've been laying her down in hopes that she will once again roll...

and sometimes, she *will* amuse me by almost making it. But most of the time...

she just laughs at me. Please tell me this is normal and it's not that I happen to have the most stubborn baby that ever lived.

  1. i think i'd be a little disappointed if you DIDN'T have the most stubborn baby that ever lived, really. i want backtalk all day long from that cheech.

  2. oh my god she is so cute, stubborn or no.

Which cuteness *almost* distracted me from my ulterior purpose of WHERE DID YOU GET THAT POSTER???

We had that Smiths line written in our wedding programmes. I need it in my life, right now.

(I also wouldn't mind some chubby cheeks like that in my life right now too. So adorable.)

  3. first: i want to squeeze her.

second: totally normal. sometimes babes master a new trick and then they're like, "eh...been there done that" for a while. E rolled over then waited another 2 weeks before even attempting. she'll get back to it when she's ready, not to worry.

third: have fun in hawaii and email when you're back! our family vacation was a wild success...hoping our luck transfers to you.

    xoxo

  6. Haha! My 2nd baby (who SO reminds me of your sweet gal at that age) didn't roll over until he was 7 1/2 months old! He flat out refused. Didn't crawl till he was 13 months and walked at 22 months! I spent so much time worrying, researching, wondering what was "wrong" because he didn't follow "normal" guidelines - turns out he is simply a tremendously stubborn little being. Almost 3 now and totally caught up. But only did things on HIS terms. So no, don't worry. She will do it (and maybe other things) when she is ready. Maybe she knows how cute she looks lounging around your bed?
