Exactly how jealous am I of Jamie's grey wall? VERY JEALOUS. When we moved into this apartment, we never intended on staying long term. Joe had been offered an awesome position up here and we had exactly 24 hours to find an apartment. Don't get me wrong, I love our place, but it is a 1-bedroom and we knew that if we eventually wanted to have a child, we would need something bigger. The baby ended up coming a little sooner than anticipated, but we're going to stick it out here for about another year. Still, *really* decking everything out the way I'd like seems like a waste seeing as we'll only be here for about two years total.

That being said, I can't wait for the day that we have an actual room for the baby. Painting would be my first option, but there's some pretty killer wallpapers out there these days. Perhaps an accent wall would be nice? I found these by Paper Boy via Studio Sweet Studio and I'm a BIG fan. The hand shadows? Get outta here with all that cuteness!

  5. Our son is due in late May, and we have a small 1-bedroom apartment as well. We also never intended to be in a 1-bedroom when we had a baby, but prices being what they are in SF, there's no way around it for a while. The baby will be sharing our room until we can move, which probably won't be for 6-months to a year. I will be interested to hear how it is working for you as we deal with it ourselves... btw, those shadow puppets are totally rad.

  6. @meg and corinne i'll make sure to do posts here and there. i NEVER would have thought we'd end up having a baby in a 1-bedroom, but i'm pretty optimistic about it.

  8. We are planning to build a little mini room-within-a-room space for the nursery. It is going to be about 6x6ft and many many a friend has asked us when we are going to move...
